Labour civil war erupts as Lisa Nandy set to be ousted for 'not working hard enough'
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy faces being axed from Sir Keir Starmer's top team amid claims "she doesn't work hard enough". Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson is also set to get the chop as part of a pre-summer Government reshuffle, reports have suggested.
This would come after what might be poor local election results on May 1, critics have suggested. Speaking to the Mail, a source said: "Lisa seems to work about two days a week on her portfolio." She has also been criticised for reportedly being interested in the "sport" part of her brief in running the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
We've seen enough of "Sir" Keir Starmer and his Cabinet to work out that any Minister 'not working hard enough' is a bonus for the rest of us.
She may be useless, but a Cabinet of Lisa Nandy clones could be an improvement on worse than useless which is what we have now.
'Lisa for Prime Minister' should be the cry. Yes it's a hollow cry, echoing forlornly from the depths of bleak desperation, but these are desperate times.
Come on Lisa!

They might say she's interested in the "Sport" part of her portfolio, but I suspect the more serious issues lie with the "Digital" bit. Keir probably wants another Stalinist control freak to oversee attacks on internet freedom. We've just seen parents arrested and held for hours for criticising their kids' school on a WhatsApp group, and we all know how Facebook posts can land you with two years inside. Most importantly, the internet is responsible for young white Scousers stabbing people to death. Or somesuch. That might have been fiction, and the real problem lies with white Welsh choirboys not being sufficiently Muslim, or something. It's all got a bit confusing. So what we need is someone who can decide what we get to read and watch, and whether we can be jailed for it.
Brilliant! Let's have a woman PM who's worse than May or Truss.
I don't expect democracy to last much longer here so it's quite possible that Mrs T will go down as our only good female PM.
Mind you, the socialists are probably still misogynists so they'll not elect Nandy leader.
Sam - "Keir probably wants another Stalinist control freak to oversee attacks on internet freedom."
I agree, he probably has a few techie freaks lurking in the back room already. Lisa could be useful as a disruptive bungler though.
dearieme - I don't expect democracy to last much longer either, Reform looks like a distraction to hide the loss. Making fun of them is all we have left at the moment.
Are any of them up to 'the job'?
As far as I can see, they have these ridiculous 'ideals' which are utterly useless in government, and toxic clowns like Milliband are just fatal for any leading organisation - not that Starmer is anyway near a 'leader'...
Scrobs - that's the question and the answer seems to be that none of them are up to the job. Too many useless ideologues and chancers for it to work.
When she visited Southport with Sir Two Tier, she looked like a bag lady.
Tammly - and not a very bright bag lady.
