Gung-ho Keir

Defence chiefs ‘disappointed’ over Starmer’s Storm Shadow missiles faux pas

Sir Keir Starmer went too far by publicly confirming that Storm Shadow missiles given to Ukraine can be used to hit Russia, defence sources have said...

Defence sources told The Telegraph that they were “disappointed” Sir Keir had allowed the conversation with Mr Zelensky to be made public, as it is more operationally effective to keep such plans under wraps until they have been executed.

I'm no expert in these things, but even I knew Starmer was far too gung-ho with this announcement. I'm not sure if even Boris would have bungled that one - and Starmer clearly has bungled it.

Somebody has noted, correctly, that the prisons minister has let prisoners out; the immigration minister has allowed illegal immigrants to stay; and the energy minister has cut off our energy. I guess provoking Russia militarily was too big for Lammy, so Starmer took it on personally. Leading from the front.

Sam - yes it's not looking good. Indications so far suggest that this rabble could be even worse than the Tories.

I've been saying all along, why is all this Ukraine stuff appearing on Twitter all the time? Nobody helping them with military supplies should be letting anyone else know about it. This stuff is supposed to be secret. You don't fight wars by telling the enemy everything you are doing.

And openly provoking the worlds second biggest nuclear power just seems a bit silly to me

Labour - desperately anxious to signal a change of management before the 'opposition' organise their criticism. Plus they have used up all the 'good stuff' already. How will they keep peoples' interest for the remaining years of their government?

Signalling change and actually carrying it out are two separate things...

The Labour Party are just following the diktats set down by the real leader. The war criminal Blair, either taking revenge on the country by destroying it eonomically, for choosing to make him hand over the keys of No 10, or himself following the orders of his masters, Soros, Gates, and others of the WEF, in the depopulation of the planet (I find it difficult to believe that Blair, and his son Euan have made their millions - or is it billions now - by their own, lawful, hard work).

‘War Is Peace. Freedom Is Slavery. Ignorance Is Strength.’ These three short sentences are a central part of George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949): a book which is probably the best-known dystopian novel ever written.

Clearly we are slouching towards dystopia. thus proving (yet again) that political initiatives usually achieve the opposite to what was intended.

Bucko - it seems a bit silly to me too, especially from someone who is supposed to have a judicial temperament.

DJ - it all feels very Blairite to me, spin everything worth spinning then spin it again as if it's new.

Penseivat - it feels Blairite to me too. It seems to be a trend, political leaders becoming remarkably wealthy after their leadership stint. They don't seem to do anything but peddle influence and new ways to fleece the general population.
