To be fair, the alleged shooter wasn't as fat. And he might have had his gun in a gun bag. Perhaps the ladder was an IKEA type of thing which he assembled once he was hiding behind a bush.
Or, on the other hand, it was all a plot because the incredible incompetence of the secret service just happened to occur when a nut with a rifle and some explosives arrived to kill Trump and guessed that the best sniper location would be unguarded.
Did you see that the rally was covered live on some TV channels that normally do not attend Trump rallies? Odd that.
Since there are plainly elements of the Democrat party who would like to see Trump murdered, and they have tried everything else they can think of to stop him, I think some of them would entertain assassination. But they mess things up like we all do on occasion and others can see what they're doing. Democrat ideologues seem to be so self convincedly arrogant, that they think they convince the public of anything, including the fitness for office of Jo Biden.
My brother who has quite a following as an underground musician in North America, and being very mischievous, trolled a number of his worried Democrat friends, (in his own name), by saying,"hey guys, just one bad debate! Biden's fine, he's as sharp as a tack and on track for the Presidency."
He told me that really riled them up, much to his amusement.
Tammly - it's as if they don't know how easily checked things often are these days. Democrat ideologues certainly do seem to think they can convince the public of anything. Your brother's Democrat friends could change their minds instead of being worried, as many Conservative party voters have done in the UK, but many people just don't do that, they cling on.

And apparently they saw him with a range-finder, which they thought might be a bit dodgy, but didn't arrest him straight away.
dearieme - I didn't know about those extra TV channels. Yes it is odd, too odd for comfort, but so much of the US political scene is.
