It is even possible that experienced bureaucrats will be left floundering here, valiantly struggling to find procedures and processes to be expanded, mission-creeped and thoroughly gold-plated in the traditional manner.
Oh well, I wonder if my slippers need replacing yet...

DJ - taskforces sounds desperately old-fashioned too, and like a local government pool of overpromoted duds.

If the government would stop putting up taxes which are passed on to the consumer, that might help. If it costs 50p to carry a bus passenger from A to B and you can only charge 30p, where does the missing 20p come from?
I spotted only one "crackdown" and not a single "jump-start". They haven't yet mastered their drivel engines.

John - I agree, however they describe it, what we get is more looting than legitimate taxation.
dearieme - maybe their their drivel engines are solar powered and they have to be near a window for them to work.
