Biden: I deserved a second term
Joe Biden said his achievements “merited” a second term in office as he addressed the nation for the first time since stepping back from the presidential race.
The US president, 81, suggested his “leadership in the world” and “vision for America’s future” had given Americans reason to elect him again, but said he would “pass the torch” to a new generation to keep his party united.
Those who have been indulged by fortune and have always thought of calamity as what happens to others, feel a blind incredulous rage at the reversal of their lot, and half believe that their wild cries will alter the course of the storm.

They could easily give the poor old fart a second term, without anyone being harmed. Just tell him the past few weeks have been the hallucinated side-effect of his medication, and let him carry on in a mock-up of his office. Take him out in a helicopter from time to time, and get Bob de Niro to dress up as Zelensky.
Sam - it would work too. He could even have a few "secret" documents to take home, wear his sunglasses all the time and have his own autocue which displays things such as "That's what I'm here for man, looking things out for things."

dearieme - strewth, I hadn't seen that. They can't be straight about anything.
Time zone?
sjc - could be. I'd expect them to be the same, but maybe not.
@sjc: but he'd flown into DC from Nevada so the time zone gap is too big to explain a discrepancy of just an hour. It would also suggest that he, or his Jeeves, hadn't corrected the watch to East Coast time. Seems most unlikely.
The parsimonious explanation, as people like to say, is that the lying liars were lying again.
