Quite. In other news people are excited about removing dams in California so that salmon may swim further upstream.

I read the article closely but didn't see any mention of what the effect would be on flood control, water supply, or power generation.

It would seem that Virtue Signalling trumps everything else.

Jannie - as one of the comments says, it's deliberate.

DJ - without formally recognising it, we seem to have been wallowing around in an era where technical or scientific experience plus a technical understanding of risk and uncertainty are necessary for politicians and senior bureaucrats. Not sufficient, but necessary.

You're overdoing it, Mr Blogger. It would be quite enough if the politicians and bureaucrats were masters of primary school arithmetic.

Y'know; on one page add up all the MW required. On the opposite page add up all the MW you can generate and distribute.
