So... in a couple of generations historians will look back on this period of history and present is as a series of horror hustles to keep the Deep State in the manner to which it has been accustomed.

Am I surprised that the War on Terror, Trump's 'Russia connections', Covid etc. were all overblown and we (generally) were all taken in? No. I am surprised to see the scams lined up like pearls in a necklace.

"I for one worship our new internet overlords" is no longer so funny.

DJ - there is enough evidence of wrongdoing out there for Democrats to revisit their moral compass and accept that these things shouldn't be happening. They won't though.

He seems to be saying that huge amounts of information has been stored, with the potential for using and analysing it later. If so, we seem to have entered a new historical era where personal privacy has become an impossibility. We just acquired an accessible personal history whereas before, there was only our fallible memories.

Sam - it would be interesting to know how much of this huge amount of information is junk which could never be useful and whether it is genuinely possible to find most individuals of interest.
