She is 44, the daughter (one of eight children) of a former Nebraska and U.S. representative (John Joseph Cavanaugh III), is married (but didn't take her husband's name), has three children, and her brother is also a Nebraska state representative because what's politics without nepotism? She was also the first woman to breast feed on the Capitol floor. She's everything that's wrong with political dynasties.

DJ - she would be offended, but also determined to hang on the that privilege while calling it something else.
If you had seen that clip more than thirty years ago, you would have expected it to end in a commentary about how she is now receiving psychiatric care or had apologised for her drug use, and that party bosses were working on the process of selecting her replacement.
Sam - good point, it would have been seen as disturbed behaviour in a mature adult, especially an elected representative. Not much different to being obviously drunk at official functions.
It may be that she is communicating to Trans people in the mode of expression to which she believes them to be accustomed.
Mr Fisher - ha ha, yes it could well be so. "I speak your language."
