Crank Still A Crank
Engineers must ‘save this planet from increasing catastrophe’, King Charles urges
Engineers must “save this planet from increasing catastrophe”, the King has urged in his first speech after his Coronation.
He made a return back to official royal duties on Tuesday, using his first engagement to bolster his lifelong support for sustainability and the environment by visiting a laboratory working on net zero research.

Ah, the Whittle Laboratory. That's one area where Charles is something of an expert, having burnt more jet fuel than many African nations.
It is hard not to swear.
Net Zero Research sounds like a job for life. Like the "expected to be working in ten to fifteen years" nuclear fission power generation research.
The man is as dim as glow worm.
He has just alienated at least half the population and just about every engineer not already on the gravy train.
Maybe the engineers working on his private jet will assist him in is personal pilgrimage to Nett Zero. But have a push bike handy.
Nett ? We are still British.
Sam - and intent on burning much more I imagine. Maybe he should come clean and fly the Royal Double Standard over his residences.
Doonhamer - I'm sure that's the attraction and what keeps engineers and scientists onside with the Net Zero narrative - it's a job for life.
Oh dear. That's not a good start :-)
Anyone who thought that 'sausage fingers' could keep his digits out of politics as promised? needs to have their bumps felt, mummy kept him on a short leash but now she has gone the green uplands beckon and he will be unable to resist as he has already shown.
Welcome to the reign of Charles the Mad.
Bucko - maybe the weight of the crown dislodged something and he went into playback mode.
Wiggia - he even seems unaware that it is politics he's bumbling through.
Tammly - he certainly is mad if he thinks that speech wasn't political.
Charles should get hold of a copy of today's Telegraph, and read the excellent article by Brian Leyland on the impossibility of achieving Net Zero:

Once he's done that he should keep his nose out of matters he doesn't understand...
Dave - thanks for the link. This section at the end says it all.
"But if we had 100 per cent nuclear backup for solar and wind, we wouldn't need the wind and solar plants at all.
Wind and solar are, in fact, completely pointless."
