Misplaced trust - again

Full list of Stroud District Council councillors as Greens become largest party and Tories suffer huge poll blow

The Green Party have won the Stroud District Council elections securing their best ever result but do not have enough seats to control the authority outright. The Greens won 22 of the 51 seats on offer at Ebley Mill and are the largest party for the first time ever while Labour secured 20.

The Conservatives suffered a huge blow and could only keep seven of the 18 they previously held while the Liberal Democrats won two seats. Green council leader Catherine Braun, whose Wotton-under-Edge ward was the last to be declared, thanked all the voters who put their trust in them. “It’s been a fantastic result for the Greens,” she said.

Could be a temporary refuge for disaffected Tories I suppose, but it's odd that anyone would put their voter's cross against a Green candidate. Most come across as worthy enough but untidy, easily distracted and not quite connected with anything that works well apart from being enthusiastic about the wrong things.

The swivel-eyed loons are in a different world, but a considerably less benign and vastly more damaging world.

Green sharks are just sharks. They are enthusiastic about the wrong things too. For different reasons.

Sackers - I think I came across an account of that in one of Katie's videos. Links between Greens and woke extremists seem to be growing, or at least not being repudiated effectively.

We liked and voted for a local Alliance Party, who managed to get everyone on board to defeat a stupid Conservative proposal for an over-expensive 'People's Palace' (huge council offices and a crap theatre),in Tunbridge Wells a few years ago.

The Lib Dems are now cock-a-hoop, as they're the largest party, but I'm not holding out any hope for a better way of life...

Scrobs - that 'People's Palace' defeat was quite an achievement, let's hope the Lib Dems don't revive it. They certainly won't deliver a better way of life.

I always think the Greens are the stupidest people on the political landscape as they have even less understanding of human beings than the Socialists, witness now, if you will, their new folly of embracing woke with Islamicism which will lead to explosion!

Tammly - yes, the Greens do seem to be morphing into something worse than any of the other parties. I wonder if the middle class hippies will drift away.

At the lowest levels of government, the Greens are not all that dangerous. Cycle lanes, allotments, an extra recycling bin or three.

It's handing over a national energy strategy to the likes of Caroline Lucas that is really terrifying.

Sam - yes it is terrifying. We do at least need our national energy strategy to be sane and achievable, the likes of Caroline Lucas are quite incapable of that.

Bad Day for 'Wind Power' in UK yesterday 5 May 24

Never got above making 8% of our electricity

And for 6 hours was below 2%

But we think we'll make wind power our backbone power for #NetZero

We're nuts. Doolally. Bonkers. Away with the fairies.

Scrobs - yes, we may as well describe those who push this kind of thing as crooks and idiots. It doesn't seem to be worth more effort than that.
