Tulip Siddiq resigns as government minister amid Bangladesh corruption probes

Tulip Siddiq has resigned as a government minister amid a number of corruption probes in Bangladesh.

In a letter to Keir Starmer she revealed she had been cleared of breaking the ministerial code, but said her position had become a “distraction”.

She is the second minister to go in six months, after former transport secretary Louise Haigh.

Not great news because it gives "Sir" Keir Starmer another reason to hang on to Rachel from Accounts for as long as possible.

"I didn't do anything wrong, but I'm resigning anyway".

Rightly or wrongly, that looks suspiciously like she narrowly avoided being found out this time, but knows she is still vulnerable. It must increase the pressure on RFA, given that she herself is a proven liar as well as being incompetent.

Whatever happened to the cult of Multiculturalism? Weren't we supposed to be made joyful by foreigners bringing their customs and habits to our dreary isle?

Sam - yes she must know she is still vulnerable. It would be no surprise if she drops out of sight completely.

dearieme - the cult of Multiculturalism has probably been passed to Marketing for an image update. Maybe a name change is being considered such as "AI Multicult."
