That should work

'We must make a stand': Roving team of council officers to crackdown on yob behaviour in Westminster

A roving team of officers is being deployed to tackle yobbish behaviour in central London.

Westminster council said it is “making a stand” against aggressive begging, street drinking and drug taking that can leave some residents and business owners “living in fear”.

It has employed a six-person police-style unit, which will use a network of 100 mobile CCTV cameras to identify the areas of most concern.

Diverse teams I hope, and presumably they aren't working from home.

Typical. Police won't or can't do their jobs so the Council Tax payers pick up the slack.

Aggressive begging?

Some of the Westminster yobs don't even ask. They just take your money, and a lot of it gets sent straight overseas, or frittered away on ridiculous stunts. I say yobs, but one of the worst is a woman. Pensioners are absolutely terrified of her.

DJ - it also feels like a stunt to justify Council Tax hikes.

Sam - good point, that Miligang outfit is just as bad with their rackets.

If they aren't working from home, I doubt they will be targeting the zombie knife wielding, culturally enriched yoof

So this new unit will scoop up wrong doers - and the Courts will let them go.

Bucko - I doubt it too, especially out of 9 to 5 hours or weekends.

Tammly - I can't imagine who they think they will scoop up either, little kids vaping perhaps.

What powers will these council jobsworths have? No power of arrest; no power to demand names or address; no power to search and seize; no power to move them on. I could continue. The Westminster morons must be living in a tiny world of their own if they think this will solve the problem.

Penseivat - they should be quite good at arguing with them about climate change, pronouns, equality and multiculturalism though, that could at least make them run off.

Or perhaps they could play Mozart at them?
