Just shows how seductive group think can be, even to a seasoned veteran. Perhaps the 'cost' of not going along with the group think has been made so expensive that few choose to look beyond the approved narrative.
Perhaps Biden Adulation Syndrome was whipped along because Trump Derangement Syndrome was losing its power?
Good of him to admit he got it wrong, but the question remains as to why he kept his well-paid job when he didn't see what unpaid punters clearly saw. That's like a plumber apologising for flooding your house because he didn't know to take the bath plug out.
DJ and Sam - it does seem to show political strategists as no more objective than their party supporters in that they are inclined to believe their own narratives. Being a Democrat rather than an outsider who never votes might tend to bring that about.
The thing is they (the Dems) won't learn from the mistakes, because the lesson is 'We were wrong about X (and Y and Z)'. Which increasingly is something the Left cannot admit, because so many of their policies and stances are taken not because there is a jot of evidence that they are correct, or that they actually believe them, but because they are part of the Leftist package of ideas that everyone has to sign up to to be a part of the 'tribe' of the Left. Its not possible to be considered part of the Left and (for example) think that trans women are not real women. You could be a card carrying Communist, but if you don't think any chick with a dick can wander into the Ladies any time 'it' chooses then you're a Far Right Bigot who deserves to die. Ergo its just not possible to row back from that position, because the moment any one person does they'll be torn to shreds by the True Believers. Unless the Left can pull off one of those fish shoal manoeuvres whereby they all suddenly tack to the right as a unit and pretend nothings changed, then they are stuck with everything that the US electorate rejected in 2024.
Sobers - I don't see how they can row back either without a fish shoal manoeuvre, but even that would probably leave many True Believers behind, shouting and chanting about deserting the Great Cause or something.
It's easy enough to imagine drifting away from one position such as gender politics, because then it is possible to pretend it isn't such a radical change, but escaping the whole woke world won't be easy for those who promoted it so rigorously.
