Even if the Californian wildfires were caused by arsonists, we never used to get them before global warming, did we? Global warming doesn't just dry out the vegetation, it affects people's minds. You never hear about arson in Antarctica and on the Arctic ice floes - for the time being.
Sam - that's a good point, and we never used to grow flammable trees before global warming. Although we never hear about arson in Antarctica, JSO may be planning something with orange penguins.
I .commented on this over at Longriders place. I have since read that Scientists are studying the remains of trees that have been found high in the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming.. Apparently they grew several hundred metres above the current tree line and the implication is that the world was a lot warmer when they were alive estimated to be at least 6000 years ago. Those damned stone age people burning all that gas and oil.
John - there have been similar indications where retreating glaciers have uncovered the remains of ancient trees. I agree, it musts have been those damned stone age people burning all that gas and oil to heat their caves.
If only some of them had seen the dangers and protested by gluing themselves to the cave entrance.
