How ironic
Britain’s biggest industry slashes jobs after record tax raid
One in four services companies are cutting jobs after the record tax raid launched in Labour’s first Budget, according to a closely watched survey.
Some 23pc of companies in the service industry – the major driving force of Britain’s economy, which includes everything from restaurants to law firms – reported a fall in their work force levels in December, according to S&P Global.
Law firms too eh? I bet they didn't see that coming - or maybe they did.

And that's before we start counting the new jobs which will now not be advertised or filled.
DJ - yes, epic bungling from the off.
That sector contains the tax and business consultants. I would hope that a few of them might have seen it coming...
I have experienced the fallout from many budgets over the years. I find it hard to believe that no one in the Treasury did not pick up the consequences of Reeves efforts and warn what would be the result.
Perhaps every Government Dept needs a Sgt Wilson character, ready to chip in with "Are you sure this is wise sir?"
Sam - those who did have sold the business and moved abroad.
John - maybe the Treasury wants to be rid of Reeves and doesn't mind some economic woes to achieve that. Otherwise they aren't fit for purpose either.
