Some Blairs are more equal than others. Tony Blair, for example, isn’t the most rapid of our clan when it comes to gaining awareness of plainly observable facts.

The other day, former British Prime Minister Blair said something that until recently was for his UK Labour Party basically unsayable. He told a British radio host that Labour should drop its obsession with climate change.
The host, seeking clarification on this evident heresy, asked if Blair was actually calling for the British government to completely abandon its green energy targets—which according to modern leftist fable will quickly lead us to a net zero holy land.
“Yes, I am,” Blair replied, gloriously, “because Britain’s emissions are under one per cent of global emissions. We can’t solve climate change by imposing costs on our own businesses and consumers when the rest of the world is not doing the same.”

"Tony Blair, for example, isn’t the most rapid of our clan". He is, in fact, a dim little man and remarkably ignorant. Therefore he was remarkably popular for a while.

dearieme - ignorance seems to be a political asset in that decisions can be waved through for political reasons only. I blame the electorate too, he is an obvious charlatan.

Perhaps think tanks and their like are more nimble because words are cheap? But Governments are burdened by having to try and balance all the factions.
