Scottish expert to attend COP28

Yousaf to attend Cop28 climate summit in Dubai

The Scottish First Minister said his attendance will show Scotland’s ‘commitment to being a good global citizen’.

Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf is to head to Dubai for the Cop28 summit, saying doing so shows the country is making a “constructive contribution” to tackling problems such as climate change.

He said he will use his visit to call on other nations to “urgently step up to address the injustice at the heart of climate change” by providing more support to poorer nations who are suffering the most from rising global temperatures.

Happily he'll be travelling in a wooden sailing boat. Aye, right.

Don't forget, they, the Scoatish Nashnal Pairty, are saving shipping carbon, and oxygen, miles by infinitely delaying he commissioning of their ferries.
This was Wee Nippie's , aka, Wee Jimmy Kranky's, idea so it only fair that she should win the next Climate Catastrophe private jet flight to some sunny Climate Boiling Conferance.
Maybe we should crowdfund the Stop Oil zealots to start rowing now in order to get there and glue themselves to the runway. Surface temperature maybe plus sixty or seventy of yer Celcius.

When you typed "expert" you forgot the inverted commas . . .

dearieme - with oars I hope.

Tammly - and a tinder box to light it.

Doonhamer - that's a good idea, get them to glue themselves to that sunny runway.

Jannie - I know, I hope he doesn't mind being given too much credit, although it does seem to be what he is aiming for. Not very successfully of course.

It's much better to call on other nations to do stuff, than actually stump up the cash yourself. Especially if that other nation is England.

Sam - and he does seem on track to make Scotland one of those poorer nations.

One can only assume he will be showing Scotland's successes in green energy as an example of the way forward. Or is it just a jolly for him and his mates?

Penseivat - a jolly, a distraction and possibly a way to make some important contacts I'd say.
