Richard Tice: Reform leader denies offering Lee Anderson money to defect to his party
Richard Tice told Sky News "no money or cash" has been offered to Tory MPs - but he has had conversations with senior figures who he claims are "furious" with the government's handling of immigration.
Reform UK leader Richard Tice has denied reports that Tory deputy chairman Lee Anderson was offered money to defect to his party.
Mr Tice told Sky News that "no money or cash has been offered to any Tory MP whatsoever".
I believe Mr Tice, although it now leaves a more obvious possibility unanswered. What would his party offer in order to persuade Lee Anderson not to defect to Reform UK?

Lee Anderson would probably be able to find an ideological home in either the Tories or Reform, but making him Deputy Chair of the Conservatives always looked like desperation on Sunak's part. He might as well have created a new post called "Token Red Wall Jester". I'd love to be a fly on the wall at meetings between him and Rishi.
Richard Tice must really motor from now on, as he only has a few months to get his at together!
I guess that Mr Anderson is the rough equivalent to Rishi as Prescott was to Blair...
Reform it is for this household in any event!
Sam - yes "Token Red Wall Jester" is his role and he probably knows it. To my mind he's now left it too late to jump ship with much credibility.
Scrobs - I can't see Tice making much headway, but I hope so. We need a major upheaval of some kind.
How very dare they imply that any Honourable Member could be bought. With money.
Mark Anthony could tell you about Honourable men, courtesy of the Bard.
Doonhamer - probably a footling amount of money too, it's an insult both ways.
