If only the UK had someone that smart

Britain too ‘attractive’ for illegal migrants, French minister claims

Poor management of immigration makes the UK “too attractive” for migrants, France’s outspoken Interior Minister has said, in the wake of the death of 27 people in the English Channel on Wednesday.

It's got to be benefits, then health, then jobs...

The jobs available here are so good for the 'unexplained' immigrants, and a cash-in-hand job will be an attraction to anyone.

Of course, the Inland Revenue would like to intervene, but they only want high-profile subjects, not a few blokes and birds working in a laundry for a few notes.

We have a useless Home Secretary at the moment, and while Boris is still on his long-covid kick, we'll not get a result this side of Easter next year.

Scrobs - I don't think there is any intention to do anything constructive and it is probably far too late anyway.

If they find Britain more attractive than France, then I can guess we can count on them being Brexiteers...

As many who defend the migrants on a Twitter feed I read yesterday the benefits are not that high compared to other nations.
What the same people omit from their argument is that you get nothing for instance in France until you manage to get asylum , no housing health care no feeding no paying for interpreters as you do here from the moment you set foot in the land.

'Migrants who do not file for asylum, who are undocumented (illegal) on French territory, have no right to anything'

and

'Asylum seekers:

When arriving in France, migrants who file an asylum application are entitled to ADA (asylum seeker allowance), which varies depending on the applicant’s family situation (with or without children). The amount ranges from 6.80 euros per day for a single person (about 190 euros per month) to 17 euros per day for a couple with two children (about 476 euros per month) to 23.80 euros per day for a family of 6 people (about 660 euros per month).

Apart from this aid, asylum seekers have no right to anything.

The ADA ends after the final decision (positive or negative) from the Ofpra
or the National Court of Asylum (CNDA).

I think we can all see the difference

Sam - good point. It should be a question on the paperwork.

Wiggia - yes and they are prepared to risk drowning for that difference.
