New Universal theme park set to open in UK - with promise of 'billions' of pounds for the economy
The theme park is set to be up and running by 2031 and will be the UK's most popular tourist attraction, Universal hopes.
Speaking to Wilfred Frost on Sky News Breakfast, Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy said the deal was "huge"...
Welcoming the timing of the announcement, Ms Nandy added: "This deal comes off the back of one of the most tumultuous few weeks in global markets that I think anyone can remember within living memory.
The problem we have is political chancers who deliberately misremember things well within living memory. Within months for example.
Yet maybe this is our future and they don't want to tell us - a vast theme park with millions of energy efficient chalets for the staff.

Warble gloaming should come in at about the right time to offset our wonderful climate . . .
Less bread and bigger, much bigger, circuses.
I knew that area well, having grown up near there. I would cycle out to the low hills above the brickworks, and sit and eat my packed lunch.
I think I preferred it how it was.
It says something about the state of a country when the PM describes the planned opening of a big leisure centre as "momentous".
@Jannie
By the time the theme park is built it will be 'beachfront property' - according to those who would frighten us with bogey climate predictions.
Jannie - I hope so, theme parks aren't popular in fog or freezing drizzle.
DJ - and a national fried onion aroma to greet guests.
Sam - I agree, 'momentous' was the word which struck me. Starmer is becoming increasingly useless at picking appropriate words.
Who'll be able to afford to visit the fairground thing?
Most GPs won't take the GCs as the charge will be astronomical, and just for a few views of some idiot cartoon character and a packet of hideous crisps, it'll be out of most Citizens' reach!
The Milton Keynes Snowdome was considered a good situation, as the majority of the British population lived within two hours driving of the place. The situation here isn't that far away, but certainly not as central...
Buy a garden swing, and a Sodastream - much better for everyone, and save all those expensive car journeys too...
Scrobs - I bet we'd be horrified to learn how much people will pay to visit these places, but yes, a garden swing will do.
But will it be good enough for all our new diversity?
You know what it really is.
You really believe that our dear leaders would do anything for all those far extreme right facsist nasti natives?
The memes about this on Twitter have been quite funny so far. Also, they've aparrently already found endangered newts and bats on the site, so the costs are obviously going to spiral out of control
Doonhamer - I don't think they will do anything for the nasti natives because in their eyes they aren't having enough babies and won't be here in a few generations.
Bucko - oh dear, endangered newts and bats aren't good news, folk with untidy hair will be up in arms about that.
Just last week, I sighted the first ever newt in our pond! We have bats about too!
Tammly - that's it, the pond becomes a permanent fixture forever.
