Supreme Court latest: Supreme Court rules on definition of a woman - as campaigners celebrate
The Supreme Court has ruled that "woman" in UK law refers to biological sex in a significant ruling celebrated by women's groups but criticised by trans campaigners.
A UK government spokesperson says: "We have always supported the protection of single-sex spaces based on biological sex...
"This ruling brings clarity and confidence, for women and service providers such as hospitals, refuges, and sports clubs.
There has never been a problem with clarity. The issue itself has always been clear enough as a political campaign promoted by malign and cowardly politicians, media and celebrities.

Imagine stepping up to the plate to govern our country. In charge of powerful armed forces, including nuclear weapons. The constant need to intelligently confront foreign enemies and attempts to undermine Britain. The ability to deal with unions and strong pressure groups who are expert at getting their own way: the rail workers, medics, power workers.
Now imagine being frightened by a tiny group of mentally ill blokes who wear dresses and makeup.
Don't be surprised if 'Activists' start campaigning to change the law. Their own feelings are their own ultimate authority.
Perhaps we could have a Supreme Court ruling on what constitutes a worthwhile politician?
Sam - yes it's desperate stuff. Reveals how bad things are, but even that isn't much of a bonus.
DJ - they will, it's personal feelings every time.
Tammly - I suppose we now have a ruling on what doesn't constitute a worthwhile politician.
With Tammly on this one.
James - although voters should know.
