PM says it would 'cost the taxpayer a fortune' if he didn't accept free Arsenal tickets
Asked about his relationship with Arsenal Football Club, Sir Keir said he has attended matches as a season ticketholder for years.
But now he is prime minister, Sir Keir told ITV London the "security advice is that I can't go to the stands".
The prime minister added that if he did, it would "cost the taxpayer a fortune" on "additional security".
Football is the only thing that can bring together an entire country, regardless of political or religious differences.
Zinedine Zidane
Sir Keir soon messed up that quote, but he's right about security of course. Enraged pensioners would soon track him down, even outside the ground. Especially when winter sets in.

No problem with costing the taxpayer a fortune. We're already paying out for climate change measures in foreign countries, have spent billions on a non-existent railway, and protecting mosques from those violent rampaging Jews. That's a proper fortune compared to a few policemen and an armoured car.
I think he should be protected from harm, even with bullet-proof shields, but standing on the terraces would help him gauge the public mood.
I see comments about his "beloved Arsenal". But he grew up far nearer to Selhurst Park than Highbury. So why is he not a Crystal Palace supporter?
I also read that he was always a keen footballer. But I see no mention of how many seasons he spent in his school First XI or even Second XI. All right; he spent his Saturdays at a private music school. But that would surely still leave him free to play in his House XI. How many seasons did he do that for? No mention.
I note that Rishi supported his team, Southampton, from the stands rather than the hospitality suites. Were his security team not advising him of the dangers of the stands?
Sam - yes, standing on the terraces would help him gauge the public mood, although I'm not convinced he's the kind of person who is sufficiently aware of these things. "You don't know what you're doing" chants might make an impression.
dearieme - maybe Starmer has reach that stage where he can't be trusted about any personal details such as his love of football. If he didn't play for the school, his enthusiasm seems a little artificial, especially as music and politics were so important too.
Back on the freebie stories, I hear his wife is known as Victoria Sponge which is rather good.

Or even, in later years … the Crazy Gang.
James - too up and down perhaps.
