When he was talking about locking up dissidents, rigging elections, and banning books, he had to pause because he knew he had sounded too enthusiastic.
I thought he achieved little in two terms of Presidency, and when I saw him on holiday with Richard Branson afterwards I realised why I never took a liking to him.
DJ - to my mind he showed us how important it is for leaders to explain at least some of the facts of political life, because he conspicuously didn't do that.
