Angela Rayner row: Does Parliament have a problem with misogyny?
A story in the Mail on Sunday reporting claims from Conservative MPs about Angela Rayner has been widely criticised as misogynistic.
It claimed Labour's deputy leader tries to distract Boris Johnson in Parliament by crossing and uncrossing her legs as she sits on the frontbench, facing the assembled Tory MPs.
But is misogyny the exception rather than the rule when it comes to the culture in Parliament?
Our political class sets yet another poser - how to decide between Tweedledee or Tweedledum. Never easy, although it may be worth noting yet again that Angela Rayner never manages to remain aloof from nonsense such as this. Someone knew she wouldn't.

*If* Angela Rayner was deliberately trying to distract Boris Johnson with her 'feminine wiles' then you could also make the (possibly overblown) allegation that such behaviour was misandry. But that will never fly as the Sisterhood would come out in force to 'manage the narrative'.
Funny old world.
Shirley, all Boris has to do is have a can of fly spray handy in case she does it again.
"All in the best POSSIBLE taste," as Kenny Everett would say.

In private Ms Rayner may be a demure and delightful lass. But she's chosen the public persona of a shouty slag.
I don't agree with the 'normals' over this, their cries of "misogyny" and "sexism" are just hackneyed. The human world is sexual and that's an end to it. No woman or girl has ever mounted a false flag attack on her male quarry I suppose? Yeah like hell. As far as the Angela Rayner episode is concerned it is a case of heads she wins, tails Boris loses.
It's the patriarchy, Putin and Trump to blame I tell ye.
DJ - she does seem to employ body language as a matter of habit and does come across as a narcissist so who knows?
Penseivat - she may go completely manic though, like a sprayed fly.
Sackers - ha ha, I wish I'd remembered that.
dearieme - I suspect she is different in private, but not demure or delightful.
Tammly - I agree, the accusations are just hackneyed and the nature of human sexuality should not be used in this way.
James - absolutely, it's those two misogynists.
'Crayons' has had an eventful life, using her charms to help get her where she is now.
Is she really as stupid as people around claim? Or just another devious Leftie with no moral standards? Who knows?
Ed - I don't know either, although she must at least have a pronounced ability to manipulate people to have climbed the greasy pole this far. I suspect she is thick too though.
