Climate change: IPCC scientists say it's 'now or never' to limit warming
UN scientists have unveiled a plan that they believe can limit the root causes of dangerous climate change.
A key UN body says in a report that there must be "rapid, deep and immediate" cuts in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
Global emissions of CO2 would need to peak within three years to stave off the worst impacts.

As the mainstream media have been preaching this drivel for many years, what do we make of their veracity when it comes to reporting other important issues? Believe nothing until the issue becomes so obvious that even the mainstream media can't obscure it - that seems to be a good starting point.

Recent satellite temperature measurements show almost no warming (for most of C21). But obviously such accurate data upsets the gravy train riders - we can't have reality ruining their sinecures, can we?
Ill go along with the idea that human activity has an effect on the climate, it is physics after all. I'll go along with the idea that we should reduce all the waste and emissions to make the world a cleaner and healthier place.
But. Every day it seems there is another qualification of how accurate or inaccurate some aspect of the climate models are. I'm not one to say that these qualifications must be significant (or not) but the Alarmists allow for no doubt or qualification to to be expressed. That seems to me to be a political judgement rather than a scientific one. Political judgements may be driven agendas that may not be obvious, and it's curious how the mainstream media has been recruited to the cause.
Perhaps we are all going to die from heat exhaustion or sharkanadoes, but if we do then the Alarmists will carry some of the blame for overselling their case and inviting pushback.
Now or never?
How many times have we heard this?
If it truly is now or never, and it certainly won't be now (ask the Chinese!), then it's never and perhaps we can have heard the last of these charlatans.
But I doubt it, frankly: they'll be back in a few years (or maybe next week) saying we have six months to save the world (again) or something like that.
Ed - I'm sure there is a hint of panic about the climate not warming as it should.
DJ - yes human activity does have an effect on the climate, especially locally where cities are warmer than rural locations. Probably other factors such as land use too and maybe atmospheric chemistry, but the uncertainties are huge. It's a pity we don't focus more on waste and serious issues such as population pressures.
Peter - I'm sure they will be back until the wider population wakes up to consequences they don't like.
