Had a light covering of snow early this morning but it has virtually all gone now. The grandkids enjoyed the snowball fights though - it was damp enough to stick together easily. COP26 just missed it, although their version would have been due to the climate emergency or something.

That must be a very old photo, the professor at the UEA said in 2010 that the likelihood of us ever seeing snow again was remote, and their predictions are always correct.
Damp snow, you say? I'm sure we're seeing a long-term pattern of damper snow as the climate changes. Snow used to be much drier, I recall. Give me half an hour and I can probably find a paper on CO2 and increased snowball hydration.
Slightly damp snow better for snowballs.
Wiggia - it's surprising how daft such people can be. He could have predicted disappearing snow in the next thirty years, but no, he had to make it into the headlines.
Sam - yes, in days gone by we had to dip snowballs in water otherwise they were too dry to throw without disintegrating.
Doonhamer - and soaking wet gloves.
