Quick - create a storm of protest

Fans urged to donate football kits to make Christmas special for disadvantaged children

Kitmas distributed 1,000 kits to disadvantaged children in the UK in 2020 - and hopes to match or beat that number this Christmas.

Quick - create a storm of protest about disadvantaged kids who can't play football because reasons.

Because of the massive inequality which plagues the UK under this insensitive and uncaring government, literally millions of kids are facing a bleak future without polo. Why can't 'The Sport of Kings' be 'The Sport of Kids'? Can you help them out by sending us your unused polo ponies, tack, and mallets? Do you have a country estate with a few pitches you could spare? With your help, we can set up a few chukkas and bring back the chuckles!"

Funniest thing I’ve read all week:

Mr Watson said distributing the shirts "became more complicated than we could have thought" because of the sensitivity around club affiliations in certain areas.

People seem fond of 'Fact Checker' groups, although their output is sometimes biased. However I'd like to formalise another set of groups that already exist in larger numbers - DORUs - Disproportionate Outrage 'R' Us. People who find themselves drawn into such groups should be aware that they are not principled defenders of the good but cannon fodder for those who use them.

I often wondered how all those graduates from the University of the Outskirts of Tinytown would find employment. It now seems they are all working for charities. Gissa Job is being crowdfunded. When I shuffle off this mortal coil I would like to leave something to a charity, are there any worthwhile ones left. Any which haven't been captured by common purpose and the wokerati?

Sam - a fine idea. Most kids are also deprived of offshore powerboat racing so donations of unused powerboats would go some way to correct that.

Macheath - which would certainly apply round here with Derby County and Notts Forest shirts.

DJ - yes and those who use them are often the media to begin with, but then the snowball grows.

Andy - I don't think there are any worthwhile big charities left. Possibly local clubs and societies would be as worthwhile as anything else.

Yes there is Andy!

Our sole chosen charity is our Kent Air Ambulance (Sorry AK, I know we chatted about this last week), and they don't take anything like the subsidies from the tax-payer that the big fat charities do!

Had my wife been any worse recently, we may well have had them parked outside our door, but the paramedics from the hospital did a great job! The NHS do already get a huge amount of money so we like to get our dosh to the others who are a great bunch!
