It's a success from both sides. The litter pickers and gardeners have improved the bridge and enjoyed themselves. More importantly in councilthink, by pointing out the required levels of paperwork which have been ignored they wash their hands of any responsibility should someone break a nail and look for compensation . . .
Jannie - there may be some residual councilthink worries though, such as worrying whether they should have enforced a ban on cleaning the bridge. Also worries about what comes next - filled potholes?
dearieme - I've never been there. Once stopped at the M5 Bridgnorth services - no council could spoil that.

Lovely spot, Bridgnorth. Like a Tuscan hill town. (Or 'twas so many years ago when we visited. Has the Council managed to spoil it?)
