Prepare young people for the future

Make climate education mandatory in schools, Labour MP says

Nadia Whittome told MPs her bill to integrate climate change and sustainability into the curriculum would ‘prepare young people for the future’.

Prepare young people for the future eh? Maybe the kids will be taught to aspire to a private jet so they can attend COP50 with a clear conscience. Good idea but crikey - some MPs certainly seems to be fond of making things mandatory.

I can understand that though. There are a few things I'd like to make mandatory.

Climate change and sustainability, eh?

"Right, children, the aim of today's lesson is to see how long you can sustain a belief about climate change..."

I'm reminded of Sixties advice about what to do at the outbreak of nuclear war (it seemed very possible back then):-
1) Take a deep breath
2) Bend over
3) Tuck your head between your legs
4) Kiss your ass goodbye.

Perhaps something similar for climate change?

Of course, the arguments against the global warming scare wouldn't be discussed if this loony ever gets into government!

Sam - a couple of hard winters could be persuasive.

DJ - it's a point because if they push the doom angle too hard people may wonder if there is any point bothering about it.

Sackers - 它可能发生

Scrobs - she's a very good argument for raising the minimum age for MPs.
