Went the Day Well? Ours did, but some days are like that.
Bounced up* at 6:30 for the school run and everything went swimmingly from that point. School run completed on a reasonably fine day, whizzed off to Matlock afterwards to do some wandering about followed by shopping for a few odds and ends such as food.
Washed the car when we returned, then more shopping for few things we only buy from Lidl while telling ourselves that we ought to buy more from Lidl because it's so much cheaper than not shopping at Lidl. Back home for coffee and dark chocolate, booked the next Tesco delivery then sorted out a holiday destination for next year.
Some days are like that, they go well and things just seem to slot into place and get done. Other days - not so much.

Mine went well too. Got up, cycled to buy some bread and explore the new town. Discovered a bike shop, and left bike there to be repaired. Had a funny practical joke played on me by a Nigerian chap - a complete stranger. Ate some of the bread, collected the children from school and some veg from the allotment. Made big soup for freezing. Walked dogs, planned tomorrow, and so to bed.
Some days are just good.
I have to pay around £7.00 for petrol to get to our closest Aldi, so have to discount that on buying anything else!
Could go by bike I suppose, stay the night, and get home when it's recharged the next day...
How does Sam have an allotment when he's only just moved there? That's an excellent day!
Sam - an allotment already? That's quick work.
Scrobs - sounds too far, it's only the money saved which is enjoyable. Lidl is within walking distance for us and we pass an Aldi on the school run.
Tammly - that was my thought - amazingly quick work.
The allotment is in the old village. They are kindly allowing me to keep it on until everything is harvested! it's actually only 15 or so miles away, on the school run.
