Have you checked the trunk?
Apologies. And I am not even a colonial.

The nearest I can get to that is when the water pump bearings on an old Mini were so worn that the impeller would hit the inside of the cylinder block when you revved the engine. Yet (amazingly) the seal wasn't leaking, so there was no indication anything was wrong before this noise started.

It's worth noting that the majority of faults in that video are the result of "modern technology", and simply wouldn't happen on the older cars that I've mostly driven..

Absolutely brilliant! That's good non-toxic humour that everyone can enjoy. My favourite was the husky.

Ha ha ha!

Some years ago, I had a Renault automatic coupe, and could never understand why I was always singing 'Carolina Moon' at one particular stage in my daily journey!

It took several months to find out! I'd make a left turn onto a fast main road from a small lane, and the sound of the enging picking up, then getting into second gear, was the exact notage for the first line of that famous song!

Doonhamer - good point. They should asked the customer about that immediately if only for a laugh.

Dave - I've watched a few videos in the series and yes there are lots of faults due to modern technology. Another major one is where they or a mate have tried to fix it themselves. Some of those are amazingly incompetent.

Sam - the husky was almost spooky. Worth repeating late at night.

Scrobs - our automatic isn't as interesting as that. Maybe it's just as well, we don't really want cars to make interesting noises.
