An interesting reminder from last year - there are many things more important than football commentary. Also a reminder that the media are very good at bringing trivia to the fore.
In my darker moments I wonder if the Gary Lineker furore (a storm in a very very tiny teacup) is being 'bigged up' by those who are frantically trying to distract us from the COVID WhatsApp leaks.
Once you start thinking that The Powers That Be are no better than anybody else then anything could happen.
Good to see the breakdown and tow-trucks following in the rear. And a nice cushy job for about 40 coppers. Surely one of them could be spared to introduce Match of the Day?
DJ - I'm sure they are trying to distract us from something and the WhatsApp leaks must be high on the list of possibilities. It's as if they know Lineker is dim and stubborn so the issue will run and run and is worth pushing hard.
Sam - one of the main complaints I see about Match of the Day is that there are many people who could do it better than Lineker and co. They seem to be after gritty professional insights rather than pap.
