CV

Searching on Google for 'Rachel Reeves' this morning and the second suggestion was 'rachel reeves cv'. It popped up as soon as I'd keyed in 'Rach'.

Perhaps this level of interest in her dodgy cv is an early indicator of destiny, a step on her way to being the worst ever Chancellor.

Maybe one day she could write a book about her time at the helm of UK decline. Let us hope both are short - her time at the helm and the book.

In October 2023, Reeves' book The Women Who Made Modern Economics was published.[161] The Guardian said the book contained "something much more like the outlines of a coherent political project ... than Labour is sometimes credited with".[162] The Financial Times reported that the book "lifted" content from Wikipedia, The Guardian and other sources, identifying over twenty examples of apparent plagiarism in the book, including entire paragraphs.[163] Reeves told BBC News that some sentences "were not properly referenced" and this would be corrected in future reprints.

Hang on - into which bookmark folder should I put the link? Two Tier Justice doesn't quite fit nor does Sleaze. Should I open a new one e.g. Dodgy Geezers?

There was a time when UK politicians were not ready for the top job until they had served in one or more of the "Great Offices of State". Callaghan held all four, if we count PM, and even John Major briefly held two of them before becoming PM. Cameron did it the wrong way round, but still. Keir, of course, had done none of them; but perhaps things will improve if we allow the elite to swap around a bit. Maybe Lammy needs a turn in the Treasury, or perhaps Yvette Cooper (of whom David Starkey memorably said that she manages somehow to be both mousey and vindictive) while Reeves goes head-to-head with Putin and sorts out the Middle East. And what's the Deputy PM role for? Angela would do a fine job as Foreign Secretary, followed by sorting out the national debt in the Treasury.

Just be patient, folks. If after a couple of years of cutting their teeth, we end up with Prime Minister Rayner with David Lammy as Chancellor, it should all come out fine.

Chris - if she says she work at McDonald's we can be fairly sure she did as much work there as Cackle.

dearieme - in case he survives beyond Christmas, it may be worth opening two folders - Starmer and Starmerettes.

Sam - good grief, the only thing to look forward to there is parodies of Rayner talking about "our Vlad". I can't imagine where David Lammy might go next, even the back benches are too demanding for his talents.
