Sub-cycles of the Financial Entropy

"your insightful delineation of the temporal attractiveness of cash captures the broader oscillations inherent in the financial cycles and sub-cycles of the Financial Entropy."

dearieme's twaddle example for today

Commenter dearieme has suggested regular posts on twaddle encountered while browsing the internet. Good idea, submissions welcome - if I receive them I'll post them. It probably won't be particularly regular as nobody wishes to spend too much time in twaddle swamps.

It was from a comment left by someone on a financial article wherein a gazillionaire had demonstrated his financial genius by observing that cash is a more attractive asset when interest rates are high than when they are low. Did you ever?

It is hard to believe that somebody actually said that. And not be a comedian.

It's certainly a beauty, that one. The best ones are the ones that can be easily expressed in simple terms.

Have you considered a permanent link to the Guardian? Any time you feel the need, just click...

Doonhamer - yes it could easily be part of a comedy sketch, a parody of business babble for example.

Sam - that's the main downside, the temptation to trawl the Guardian.

I just love Peter Sellers' impersonation of Alec Guinness in 'Kind hearts and coronets', which isn't actually twaddle, but just a fabulous description...

"I always say my West window has all the 'exuberance' of Chaucer without, happily, any of the concomitant crudities of his period."

Priceless!
