Gosh - really?

Humza Yousaf's toiling SNP will not be helped by gender reform court battle

Daily Record Political Editor Paul Hutcheon says it is hard to see how the Scottish Government can benefit from the legal dispute

With the police investigating SNP finances and his party’s poll rating on the slide, First Minister Humza Yousaf is in desperate need of political momentum. Challenging the UK Government’s veto of the Holyrood bill on gender recognition will not aid this cause.

I guess the SNP is in the flailing around phase of any political party that has held power for a long time.

It's not as if they can claim a history of successes.

It'sa wierd how idiot politicians have the ability to grab hold of the most incorrect and unworkable policies, like a dog with a bone. And it's not unique to Scotland

DJ - it certainly does feel like the flailing around phase. As if they never have sessions where they tone things down and bring in a range of viewpoints.

Bucko - as if the unworkable stuff is pushed at them because it is unworkable and will need lots of subsidies, more public sector jobs, bigger civil service remits, more rules and regulations to enforce. Net Zero seems to be like that - doesn't matter if it's a disaster because we'll be okay.

They are desperate to have a "success". They have the anti-Midas Touch.
Every thing they get involved with turns to shite.
Run a airport? Prestwick. Make a dangerous road safe? A9. Build ships? MacBraynes new ferries. Run ships? The island ferries. Reduce sales of booze? Force price of cheap stuff to be same as quality stuff.People buy the good stuff. Reduce deaths from drug abuse? Hah. Build new hospitals? Glasgow's QEU Hospital and Edinburgh Sick Childrens. Degrade a once world famous education system? Hooray. One success.

I don't think the poor sap has any option. He campaigned as Sturgeon's woke successor, and he probably thinks that being portrayed as a turncoat and obvious liar is worse than having to talk nonsense while being thrashed in the courts. At least with the latter, he can blame the English and try to salvage some political momentum.

Doonhamer - I was recently looking at some data on drug abuse deaths in Scotland. Grim reading yet the loon pushes on with gender nonsense.

Sam - I'm sure that's the plan, but it's purely political and it shows. As if the SNP knows it isn't up to the job but won't let go.
