A Reliant Robin Buyer

I was once a passenger in one of these. A surprisingly poor car I thought, yet the owner used it for his daily commute.

I used to own one. Drove it in all weathers, including six inches of snow. Used to pick up hitchhikers, just for the ballast on fast right hand corners.

Bill - I was once following one when the driver managed to turn it on its side while going round a corner too fast. Two guys got out and heaved it upright again.

My brother in law once bought one, because you can drive them on a bike licence. Then he rolled it, cos he's a bit of a knob

Bucko - the guy I knew bought one because he could drive it on a bike licence. He didn't have a car licence and didn't want one for some reason.

Didn't that numpty Jeremy Clarkson devote a section of "Top Gear" (a programme less about cars and more about how much mayhem they could get away with), to a Reliant Robin. All he seemed to do is see how many times he could put it on it's side. Not once did he mention that, as referred to above, it could be driven on a motor cycle licence, and was cheap.
There used to be a Reliant car show in August, near to me some years ago. One chap turned up in a Scimitar and was slightly miffed when he realised his car was the only one with four road wheels.

Penseivat - I always liked the Scimitar. I never knew anyone who owned one but the look of it appealed to me and it seemed fairly practical.
