Maybe I'm looking out of the wrong window

Sky News this morning -

UK forecast to be warmer than parts of Greece before wet weather arrives

Weather forecasters predict the UK could be warmer than the islands of Santorini, Mykonos and Crete - where many have travelled for the Easter holidays - on what could be the hottest day of the year so far. But the bank holiday is set to end with a washout.

It's cold, grey and cloudy here in Derbyshire this morning. Temperature in my wood store is just above 6C. Maybe I'm looking out of the wrong window, but from here it doesn't look as if we'll be sipping our morning coffee out on the patio.

Yes, it's grey and miserable here in the northest part of North Notts. Looking at their success rate I discount any msm weather information: they make it up as they go along then sensationalise for effect.

Jannie - when we plan a walk, we've given up hoping weather forecasts might be accurate unless there are significant weather patterns such as heavy rain heading towards us. We look out of the window on the morning of the walk and make a judgement on that.

Here too, very murky in the distance and the chill wind that was so delightfully absent yesterday is back again.

Here in the south it has been pleasantly sunny - shirt sleeve weather. And now it feels cooler and damper, with rain on the way. I got the garden furniture out, but have put it back under cover.

Typical Easter bank holiday, really, but I can understand how some people might want to glue themselves to paintings and throw soup around as a result.

Woodsy - there was some improvement here during the day, but the chill wind is back too.

Sam - yes it seems to be a modern fashion, gluing yourself to paintings and throwing soup around to improve the weather. Could be a TikTok trend.
