LAPD investigates Arnold Schwarzenegger car crash after woman is injured when the star rolls his GMC Yukon SUV over a Prius and then onto a Porsche Cayenne after lunch with his son and daughter
It's a good job Arnie has previously expressed such a passionate level of concern about the climate emergency, otherwise we might wonder if he really meant it.
Average fuel consumption reported by owners of the GMC Yukon SUV is about 17mpg although that will be US gallons. Probably less than that when trying to drive over a Toyota Prius though.

A former colleague of mine once accused me of driving a gas guzzler. I pointed out that we used little petrol since we cycled everywhere bar the supermarket and a handful of other exceptions. He and his wife both drove to work using different cars, I remarked, so in fact they were the gas guzzlers. Cheeky hypocrite.
My car use is necessary
Your car use needs moderating
Their car use is DESTROYING THE WORLD
As I mentioned in my comment to the previous article I do not drive, I have no need to nor could I afford to when younger. If I did drive I would like a fast sporty job or a tank like thing. Humvees for weekdays, rolling over shopper's cars, a Ferrari for weekends. That makes me an unrequited petrol head.
It all depends on the carbon footprint of the lunch they attended. If all the produce is locally sourced, you can roll your SUV over two other cars on the way home. I believe it's called carbon trading.
Nice lunch, Arnie?
Drove one of these Yukons back in 2016 while our SUV was in the shop for repairs. They are effing huge. You need a set of steps to get into the drivers cab. Drivers position likewise is quite high.
Not surprised that Arnie drove over a Pious, it was too low for him to see.
dearieme - I used to commute in a 2.5 litre v6 Mazda MX6 which did about 27mpg. Nobody said anything to me about gas guzzling in those days. I'd buy another if they still made them - nice car to drive and very reliable.
DJ - reminds me of the PJ O'Rourke quote about people who worry themselves about overpopulation - "Just enough of me, way too many of you."
Andy - if I could afford it I'd go for something like an old 4.5 litre Bently.
Sam - you could be right and Arnie was just trading in his credits. You may have a clue to the future there too. Those people who can afford the carbon credit get to do as they please on the road which has the added benefit of driving everyone else off it.
Scrobs - it was until he forgot which foot was left and which was right.
Bill - interesting, they certainly look huge and look as if they are designed to look huge too.
Evidently Arnie owns a EV version of his Hummer, but he also owns several petrol powerde versions as was this one, he paid a small fortune to have his one version converted but still drives the others, still virtue signalling wins out, or does it........
Wiggia - it's as if Arnie want to do the virtue signalling without the virtue. Maybe it works simply because it's what most of them do anyway.
