Dealing with extra-terrestrial threats

A nationwide survey reveals that 11% of the British public think they have seen a UFO, how 26% believe aliens exist and more than half agree that intelligent life exists somewhere in the universe.

The survey of 2,000 UK adults was undertaken by TV channel BLAZE ahead of a week of programmes dedicated to UFOs, aliens and the extra-terrestrial. UFO Week takes place from Monday 22nd March, with brand-new TV shows exploring whether we are alone in the universe or if aliens have been visiting Earth...

More than a quarter (27%) of those surveyed think that the UK Government should have a war or battle plan in place for a potential alien invasion, and nearly a third (31%) feel there should be a dedicated task force for dealing with extra-terrestrial threats.

It's a survey. If asked, I'd probably agree to a dedicated task force for dealing with extra-terrestrial threats - with tongue firmly in cheek.

A Task Force is an idiotic idea; expensive, and would sacrifice a lot of our brave boys, girls, and trannies.

At the first sign of trouble, just do a remote drone strike on Alpha Centauri.

Sam - I think the problem has already been solved. Extraterrestrials will have picked up our stray TV signals and already have our bit of space-time labelled as "Bonkers - Don't Go There."

Half agree that there is intelligent life somewhere in the Universe.
And half of those suspect there might be some on Earth.

But the Aliens have a Cunning Plan.
They will arrive in rubber dingies, stowed away in lorries, ships, containers etc.
For a while they will have to suffer the indignity of 4-star hotels and food not cooked over cow dung pats.
You know the rest.

Doonhamer - yes it seems reasonable enough to assume that there is intelligent life elsewhere in the Universe. But you are right about the real aliens.
