Labour To Save The Planet

A familiar take on it, but Labour government energy and climate policies are so ludicrously stupid that the message is worth repeating.

A very nice little reminder. I wonder why some journalist doesn't put these points to Ed or Keir; they are easily formulated and the government's lack of foresight would be clearly exposed. I guess they would babble on about exciting new job-creating developments in energy storage, and stay one jump ahead of the questioner.

If you watch PMQs in Parliament, though, they seem quite shameless about not answering, or just saying that they are going to do it anyway.

Sam - I don't think they know how to answer technical or economic questions so they don't, knowing they can't. As if that's all the job entails, avoid the sceptical questions, pump out the mantras and the job's done, no need to embroider it.

A little beaut from NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT: A dear departed journalist from the Mail invented something called the National Guesswork Authority who were given the job of making up official figures.

dearieme - thanks, I'll pinch that, the NGA has a nice sound to it as well.

"Good morning Minister, I have here a most interesting report from the NGA about the alarming rise in Civil Service workload in spite of our remarkable productivity gains."

NGA, somehow I find myself pronouncing that as nagger.

Anon - yes it's easy to do that.
