Top Labour donor expects an honour - but doesn’t want to share it with me, claims estranged wife
The estranged wife of a top Labour donor has claimed he is expecting an honour from Sir Keir Starmer - but is trying to rush through their divorce so she does not get a title of her own.
Dale Vince, the green energy tycoon who previously bankrolled Just Stop Oil, has given more than £5 million to the Labour Party since 2020.
I don't know what to say to this, so following the levelling up idea I'll reply to all comments on this post by addressing the commenter as "Sir" or "Dame". In some cases I'll have to guess the gender behind the moniker so you'll have to excuse me if I get it wrong.
For it to work I'll need a comment moniker I suppose, but it's a start.
Sir AK Haart

Do you remember the brief fad concerning mode of address in the hospitals?
Nurse: How would you like to be addressed, love?
Me: I'd like to be addressed as Sir Walter.
Her: Very well, love.
Sir Tammly here. So Mr Vince who embraces the supposedly altruistic creed of the socialist party, is displaying a mean and spiteful aspect. Well I've never encountered that before!
Sir dearieme - we need a Prime Minister called "Sir Walter", there is something very solid, tweedy and dependable about it.
Sir Tammly - yes, he comes across as altruistic as a snake, or possibly worse.
Why can't she just self-identify as a Lady? You see lots of big hairy men doing exactly that, and even questioning them can land you in trouble.
Sir Sam - good point, or just change her name to show him how cheaply it can be done.
