The Obamas seem to be prominent members of The Blob. Americans are about to vote, but the outcome of the election hardly matters. While the public watch a senile old man, or some stupid cackling ex-hooker, or an oddball braggart, the real decisions are being made elsewhere. Biden's obvious incapacity has made that apparent to most people, but they still get stirred up over the outcome.
Sam - yes it's weird. Biden is solid evidence that the President doesn't much matter, although the Blob still seems to be afraid of Trump. That should matter to Democrats in particular, but apparently it doesn't matter enough.
I think Trump is a lot more than an 'oddball braggart'. People are saying he wouldn't be capable of straightening out the US if he regained office, but I think, with the wind behind him, he could do just that.
Tammly - I think he's a much safer bet than Harris in that he is opposed to war, has a realistic take on Iran and knows how to negotiate. How much he'll be able to achieve if elected, I don't know, the anti-Trump propaganda has been remarkably virulent for years now.
