I used to drive the A19 a lot. But I'm unsure of the lesson of that clip. The first car drives up the embankment - we don't know whether it was because the driver made the decision to do it as a precaution or because something in the steering failed. Then the traffic slowed and a reckless, dozey bugger rear-ended an innocent.
Isn't that normal life on the roads? Especially when one lane each way is out of service.
dearieme - I don't know the A19, but that kind of thing is normal for our stretch of the A38. I thought the chap looked a little like Ed Davey, especially as he seemed quite relaxed about things not quite going according to plan.
Sam - driving on it also spoils the road surface, causing no end of unsightly damage. I'm surprised it's allowed.
dearieme - we've always found DVLA to be pretty good so there may be enough clerks employed there for a whole cabinet.
I've had another look. The blue car swerved up th embankment when the driver saw the traffic slowing ahead. Well done to him.
Of course if a lane in each direction hadn't been coned off so that the silly buggers could celebrate their shiny new safety barrier between the carriageways the crash wouldn't have happened.
