Can you remember what you were doing when you heard the news that Kennedy had been shot? The death of Diana? And what about when all life became extinct earlier this year?
Sam - the Great Extinctions? I certainly remember some of them because they must have happened several times since the 1970s. Didn't make as much difference as I expected though, apart from British Leyland becoming extinct..
DJ - 5 years for a predicted climate catastrophe seems iffy to me. My policy would be however long I had before retirement plus a few years. Fusion power is much more sensible in that respect, certainly better than 'never'.
To the list of Great Extinctions should be added, all British heavy industry - iron, steel, shipbuilding, railway stuff, bridges, serious road vehicles, aircraft - civil and military, oil and gas production and processing, The World is not demanding that we share our secrets of road building and maintenance, nor of our "Envy of the World" heath service. No, our best exports are now wankers like The Blair, The Mandleson, The Brothers Miliband. Do want a duplictous, money grubbing, scumbag? Then we are your go-to supplier.
Doonhamer - and the problem with specialising as the go-to supplier of duplicitous, money grubbing, scumbags is that it's a low barrier to entry. Bad choice by our leaders.

Hardly the appropriate music to go with a left-wing atheist.
DAD - I didn't listen to it, I just picked up the gist of the video.

Climate catastrophe is always 5 years away, commercial fusion power is always 50 years away.
Strange that.
