Sheffield steel Covid memorial sculpture design revealed
A stainless steel sculpture representing a willow tree is to be installed in Sheffield as a permanent memorial to the Covid pandemic.
Mr King, an architect and sculptor, said of his winning design: "A willow has a strong trunk, which symbolises how people worked together to create the strength needed at such a difficult time.

Fine, but I don't see the missing bits to represent those who didn't work together, GPs being just one example.

As far as I could see virtually the whole NHS downed tools except the Covid wards and (I assume) the maternity hospitals. It abandoned us. And the population is so brain dead that it still thinks they are all angels and saints. Supposedly.

Perhaps the willow was grown in a swamp (h/t Donald Trump) and hides what was going on underneath its foliage?

There are dangerous neck-trapping areas all around that 'tree' - children should not be allowed near it.
dearieme - I wonder how long the angels and saints image will stand though. Strikes and absentee GPs must have some effect. Even the NHS clappers we know seem to have a more sceptical view now.
Sam - yes, a telegraph pole with lots of wires leading to closed doors would be a more realistic alternative.
DJ - good idea, it could be made to stand in dirty water with a few imitation snakes to symbolise the swamp.
Bucko - they certainly didn't. Gave us a warning about future possibilities though.
Ed - good point. Someone will point that out after it is installed.
Why not plant a willow tree?
