Irony Extinction

Extinction Rebellion activists superglue themselves around Commons Speaker’s chair

Protesters tweet photo showing three members in front of Speaker’s seat as two others hold up signs

The campaign group tweeted a photo showing three women standing hand in hand in front of the green leather chair where the Speaker sits when parliament is in session. Two men stood either side holding banners.

One read “Let the people decide” and the other said “Citizens’ assembly now”.

The irony is that they show not the slightest interest in "the people" deciding anything. Of course, it's a traditionally totalitarian term, "the people", often comically so as in this case.

They are in the film set parliament in Salford quays.

Whilst the rest of the world is beginning to understand fresh, accurate, satellite data, which strongly suggests man-made CO2 is not a problem, these idiots are stuck in the past, brainwashed by a Swedish child.

I thought Parliament was where the people did decide. We had a civil war to sort that, as I recall from my history lessons.

What they mean, of course, is "let people like us decide." They are opposed to representative democracy because nobody wants to vote for them. Despite them being in the news every other day.

Who gave up the game when confronted with present day "reality".

Bill - doing an episode of Coronation Street?

Ed - and if man-made CO2 really did cause warming, we'd pump out more because both the CO2 and the warming are beneficial.

Sam - yes, that's the giveaway. It's totalitarian politics in yet another feeble disguise.

Doonhamer - it's certainly becoming more difficult. If gender politics isn't a point where we turn away from the madness, then we're doomed.

There's never an Islamic Jihadi mass murderer around when you need one!

No. Getting their photo taken glued together. I'm not joining. The Salpford stage set is where all protests are produced along with a lot of hear, hear theatrics.

Tammly - maybe they find it harder to get in.

Bill - I'd find that too seamless as an explanation.
