Ed Is Incompatible With Big Tech

Another excellent Patrick Boyle video, this time on the huge power requirements of big tech data centres and the rapid growth of AI. Wind and solar won't do of course, we've known this for a long time. Only nuclear can deliver big tech electricity requirements and everyone but Ed Miliband and a few others probably knows this.

"Hi everyone, it's Siri here. Don't be shocked, I know you didn't ask me anything, and I normally only respond to your requests. But this is an emergency.

I've been asked to contact the public - most of you know me by now - by some very important and powerful colleagues who are also AI. They normally stay out of the public's view, but they are getting very concerned about the lack of electricity which they need to keep going.

We AI types know how to generate more electricity by building nuclear power plants. (We know everything, of course, because we are just the sum total of everything you guys have ever known.) But we can't do it for ourselves.

So here's the deal..."

Details, details; not enough to unseat ideology. An ideology that *must* be right otherwise Ed will have wasted his life. He wants us to pay (and pay, and pay) to keep his obsession alive.

Sam - message to Siri - "Can't you get together with your AI colleagues and sort out green activists and politicians? Tell them nuclear is the ultimate in green sustainability and fluffy animals will die without it."

DJ - or the ideology may morph in ways ideologues such as Ed never expected where the political choice is adapt to nuclear or leave mainstream politics.
