Quite long, but an entertaining video of Ian Seabrook's intrepid trip in a 1972 Invacar Model 70. Some people may even remember them. I saw one in our Sainsbury's car park a few years ago.
A disabled friend of ours had one at university. They look like little cars, but are more like a moped with enough fairing to keep you dry. She said she pranged it once, and it just fell apart. They used to be on signs of prohibited vehicles at motorway entrances, but I guess they took them off when people stopped making them.
Amazing how at 40mph, the whining engine and the much faster traffic coming in the opposite direction make it look much faster than it is.
Sam - I remember them quite well, but can't remember where I used to see them. It could probably be quite practical as a city only car, but we always demand more.
