Like a demented sheep

I thought I had never seen anyone quite so fluent and so futile, and yet there was a kind of feeble violence in him like a demented sheep.

Jeremy Corbyn: Starmer move flagrant attack on democracy

Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has condemned Sir Keir Starmer's decision to bar him from standing for the party at the next general election, calling it a "flagrant attack" on democracy.

Mr Corbyn said it was up to local party members to choose their candidate, not Labour leaders.

"Mr Corbyn said it was up to local party members to choose their candidate, not Labour leaders."

Came me a cynic but I suspect that was not his attitude when he was Leader.

Toxic creature (i.e., created) complains about being classed as an alien, when obviously actually one.

I think Starmer is on safe ground here. The Muslims who so appreciated Corbyn's antisemitism can now vote for a Muslim and get the double benefit of a co-religionist along with the dislike of Jews.

I have argued before that Sir Ikea was a 'nightwatchman' leader put in place to hold the Labour Party together until a new leader capable of winning an election could be chosen.

I now wonder if Sir Ikea now thinks that he has the 'far left' under control and could win against a poor Conservative party. If so keeping Corbyn out of the picture makes sense. Sir Ikea has just closed the can of worms, no need to reopen it.

dearieme - he probably isn't enthusiastic about allowing voters to choose MPs.

Ed - it's still chilling to recall that he was once leader of the Labour party.

Sam - yes and it's just what we needed, yet more irreconcilable divisions.

DJ - I'm sure you are right, it's something he had to do in order to fight the next election leading a party which believes he could win it for them.
