The Taliban unveils its SUPERCAR (powered by a Toyota Corolla engine): Afghanistan's rulers declare the vehicle 'an honour' for the nation

The Taliban has unveiled the first ever supercar designed and made in Afghanistan.

The aggressive and sleek-looking Mada 9 prototype sports car is the culmination of five years of design and development led by 30 engineers at manufacturer ENTOP and Kabul's Afghanistan Technical Vocational Institute (ATVI).

Its capabilities on the road remain to be seen - the vehicle is immobile in almost all footage circulating on social media, and ENTOP has not released any performance data whatsoever.

I wonder if they intend to ask Harry to test drive one? As a way to launch his book in Afghanistan perhaps.

"The aggressive and sleek-looking Mada 9 prototype..."

Is expected to be followed by the even more impressive Mada Zahatta.

Yeaas. Dark tinted windows a nice touch. So that nobody can see that the valide sultan is driving unaccompanied by a male.
Presumably when engine starts the body rises a couple of feet in order to improve ground clearance.
I'm saying nothing about goats.

Sam - ha ha very good.

Doonhamer - two good points which I assume have been taken into account by the designers. I suppose the tinted windows won't be so necessary if the ground clearance is high enough, although that could affect the overall sleek look of the car.

I though the Toyota Corolla was the status symbol of all men from the middle east and surrounding areas. Why would they change it?

Where on earth are the twin machine guns and the hooks for the heads of the enemies of Allah going to be situated? If they want to sell this in Rotherham, you will also need room for the roof rack and tow bar.

I heard that they plan His and Hers versions. The Hers version will have an opaque windscreen except for a letter box sized transparent section.

Bucko - I don't know why they would change it, because the chances are they would be changing it for something less useful and less reliable.

Penseivat - it's the same old story, all those desirable extras are going to cost money, probably doubling the final price.

decnine - there's a thought. I wonder if we'll see them over here first.
